Yummy Fabric

Fabric Swatches Via Moona Fabrics

As I have said before I am obsessed with patterns.  I am going to start recovering some furniture in my house so I have been researching fabrics.  These are some that I love at Moona Fabrics on Etsy.  I will post some more from some of the other online fabric sources that I adore.  Which ones are your favorites?

Night of Photos, Celebs, & Fashion

Last night was a showing at Siren Studios by two amazing photographers Steve Erle and Pete Black.  Upon arriving at the studio we were whisked away in an elevator with larger than life images of Steven Tyler taken by Steve Erle with an Aerosmith soundtrack in the background.  We got there around 8:30 and the place was packed teaming with hipsters, fashionistas, and celebrities.  Both photographers work features numerous celebrities and supermodels with their own very different perspectives.  Steve's work extremely polished, crisp, and beautiful, while Pete's work was very raw gritty and intimate.  I enjoyed the dichotomy of the two artists featured together.  A fabulous night which of course would not have been complete without a beautiful rooftop view of Hollywood.

Homemade Ice Cream

So yesterday I was out with my best friend Addie, and her adorable little daughter Paloma pictured above.  We stopped into Neveux Artisan Creamery at 7407 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles.  I wasn't planning on getting an ice cream.  I was just going to have a little taste.  Boy was I wrong!!  It was the most amazing ice cream I have ever had.  Everything is organic and made fresh by Leo the owner.  They have flavors like Toasted Marsh Mellow, Creme Fraiche, Salted Caramel, Blueberry Chevre, Espresso Caramel, and of course amazing Honey Lavender.  Well I have been wanting to make homemade honey lavender ice cream forever, and after eating this I now have to.  I scoured the internet for what looked like the best recipe and found the one above at Healthy Green Kitchen.  I am going to make it and will repost with the finished product.  If you all have some better recipes let me know before I try this one.  If you're not inspired to make ice cream at least get over to Neveux if you're in LA.

The Beautiful People

There is a site on facebook called Be A Part Of The Shift in 2012.  If you haven't liked it you should because the images and messages on the page are beautiful and inspiring.  I was looking through some of my fashion magazines yesterday, and looking at the images of beauty that we are presented with daily.  I decided to do this post when I saw these absolutely gorgeous images.  People who look not only beautiful, but wise, and full of life.  People who have done and seen things in this world, and their joy and sometimes sorrow is present in their eyes.  I was captured by the beauty of each of these people, and was reminded that our beauty exists within, and to always work inside out.

Completely Obsessed

Photos and Templates Via The Creativity Exchange

Ok....I didn't even know these existed.  These are all FREE PRINTABLE labels that you can download.  Maybe I am behind the times.  But I feel like I just struck gold.  I think these are some of the cutest things I have ever seen.  My mind is racing with all of the things I can label.  I don't even know what to do.  All you have to do is buy sheets of sticker paper from Staples....or any other office supply, and voila!!  Labels!!  Sooooo adorable!

God Save The Bee!

As I've mentioned before I love patterns.  I found these a while back and saved them.  Unfortunately I didn't keep track of where they were from so I can't credit the images.  But I was so happy that I had them for this post.  In case you haven't seen the movie "Vanishing Of The Bees,"  I will first say it's a must see.  A wonderful documentary directed by Maryam Henien.  She documents the crisis we are currently facing in this world where entire hives of bees are disappearing.  This may seem trivial to some, but if you enjoy having any organic food that is not genetically modified then bees are an essential part of that process.  Without them, we will have no longer have a natural organic food supply.  Maryam is currently starting a fabulous website called Honey Colony.  It will be an INSPIRED community of people that share ideas about health, foods, etc, and feature a plethora of wonderful products for mind, body, and soul.  She is currently raising funds for this project, and you can gift funds at Indie Gogo.

A Simpler Time

Being born in the 70's I'm revealing  I loved these pics that I fell upon.  I remember pictures of myself in my bell bottoms with my name stuck on my shirt in little block letters.  Looking back on these reminds me of my youth, and to continue to live life with the eyes of my inner child.  It's always more fun that way.
