Squash the Frittata

I love making frittatas.  It allows me to make a meal that's packed with protein, veggies, and quick to make.  It's also great for using whatever yummy veggies we've picked up at the farmers market each week. I decided to get a little creative with the frittata pictured above.  I added some butternut squash, Chinese broccoli, onions, and a bunch of italian shredded cheese.  The outcome was super easy and super yum.  The thing I love most about frittatas is pretty much anything goes.  If you have some eggs and some vegetables laying around that you're needing to use up before they go bad...throw them all in there.  I've found you really can't go wrong.  Here is the recipe for this one...enjoy.

Daniele & Iango Exquisite

photos via Streeters

I posted Hairy Tales by Daniele & Iango on the blog just a bit ago.  Mostly because I was dying over the hair, but also because of a love for the incredible photography of these two amazing photographers. I love how everything always works together in their work, the fashion, the hair, the makeup, and they're fabulously moody lighting an placement.  They have exceptional vision as photographers, and I love to look at their work for ideas an inspiration.  Also the Streeters Website which is an agency in New York and London for hairstylists, makeup artists, stylists, photographers etc, is a wonderful place to seek inspiration.

Treasure Hunting On Etsy

Etsy is a great place to treasure hunt.  There are so many unique items and gifts that you can find on the site. I'm sure almost everyone has heard of Etsy, but if you haven't, it is thousands of little online stores with handmade items.  Above are a few of my favorite little shops, Modish Vintage, Girl On A Vine, The Accents Shop, The Lacy Peacock, and Charmed By Heidi.

Get Behind With Dolce & Gabbana

We love this behind the scenes look at all that goes into creating a photo shoot.  We see a final product, but there is a crazy amount of work and prep that goes into any given shoot. This video of Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2013 campaign, shot by Domenico Dolce and styled by Steffano Gabana, captures a beautiful Sicilian Holiday.  Of course not all shoots are this elaborate, but we love this beautiful footage.  It takes a village to create a shoot of this caliber.  Bellissimo! Check Out The final Product.....

Hearty Vegetable Soup

When it gets cold...which it certainly has been lately, my favorite way to cook is in my slow cooker.  First of all it is incredibly easy, and second of all nothing is better then throwing everything in the slow cooker in the morning, and coming home at night to the house smelling amazing and dinner's ready.  We went to our favorite farmers market on Sunday on little Melrose Place, and got some fabulous veggies  So I decided to make a nice hearty vegetable soup with a minestrone feel.  The reason I won't say it's a minestrone is because instead of using pasta I used sweet potatoes so the starch added had some vitamins and nutrients.

Hairy Tales Photographed by Daniele & Iango

This shoot , Hairy Tales, came out in April of 2012 in German Vogue, but I just came across it and had to post it.  Luigi Murenu is one of my favorite hairstylists, and from this shoot I'm sure you can see why.  He does absolutely gorgeous work.  Every time I look in a magazine and die over the hair it's usually his.  Everything about this shoot is flawless.  I love it!!

Healthy Pancakes & Yummy....What???

I woke up this morning and decided there had to be such thing as healthy pancakes.  Pure loves pancakes, and with all of the carbs from the pancakes and all of the syrup, they tend to not start the day off too healthy.  I figured adding more fiber, and more protein would make the pancakes more of what they needed to be.  I decided to add hemp protein powder which is not only filled with protein, but tons of fiber as well.  I also added plain yogurt to make them moist, and give a little probiotic boost to help with digestion as well, most of which is lost in the cooking but good none the less.   So here is the  recipe, and they were definitely a hit.

Best of the Golden Globes 2013

 Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Julianne Moore in Tom Ford

 Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad

 Kate Hudson in Alexander Mcqueen

Jessica Alba Best Makeup of the Night

1920's Glam Inspired Hair

The 2013 Golden Globes aired last night, and the stars didn't disappoint.  My favorite look of the whole night was Kerry Washington in a sheer colored Miu Miu dress and matching Prada clutch.  It fit her beautifully, had stunning sparkles, was simple elegant and fabulous.
