Inspiration in the Simplest Places

My friend Tiffany Limos is an amazing woman, and a phenomenal director.  She trots the globe living the life of an artist writing and directing wherever she may be.  She did this little short on famed director Michel Gondry where he expresses how much inspiration he receives from his little local video store in Paris.
Michel Gondry is best known for directing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Be Kind Rewind, and the Green Lantern.  It's nice to be reminded of simpler times when we got out of the house and went to the video store where all the movies were out and displayed.  I often would find things I had never heard or which I don't find as much when doing the online thing.
Pure and I were just discussing the other day how we missed the Virgin Megastore on the Sunset Strip. It was so exciting when it opened and you could actually go to the store and listen to music at the listening stations before you purchased it.  That store like most record and video stores is long gone.  There is something to be said about going to the video store or record store, and seeing everything displayed, seeing the cover artwork, and seeing videos and music in their actual physical packaging.  An art form and a past time that is somewhat lost in todays fast paced society.  I appreciate this little moment of Michel paying homage to all the inspiration he receives from his little local shop.
